Dockrillia at POE

This plant was awarded best Dendrobium at the show. I think this species was reclassified into Dockrillia, but I couldn't see the tag anywhere so I'm not certain as to species.

Dendrobium speciosum at POE

The Aussies wouldn't consider this a particularly impressive plant (they have seriously high standards for this species), but the white form is relatively uncommon and the plant made a nice display.

Cattleya percivaliana seedlings

I just potted up a flask of perci babies. Three reasons I got this: 1) received in trade, so no money out of pocket, 2) only have one perci in my collection and find good ones hard to come by and most importantly 3) it will be fun to try to grow them to maturity.  Here you see them just out of flask with the tip of my pinky for a size reference.

POE

This video (which is not by me) gives you a feel for the Pacific Orchid Expo

Cattleya walkeriana new growth

Judging by the shape of this new growth I think this is a blooming growth.  C. walkeriana is the only species (along with the sibling species C. nobilor) that has specialized growth for generating a flower.
If I am right (and the buds don't blast) this will be my first walkeriana flowering.

Epidendrum veroscriptum

Picture from Dec 2. Picture from Dec 30. Andy's Orchids says this should be fragrant. None detected yet. I didn't try to count the flowers - there are many!
