Missed re-potting opportunity

I often find that I am simply too busy with other things to re-pot a plant at the right time - just as root growth is initiating. The window of opportunity is narrow. Here is a plant, a C. lueddemanniana, that needed to be extracted from its pot and repotted. But the roots are sufficiently far along that I will wait till the next opportunity. I placed it in a larger plastic pot with some media in the bottom to bring the plant to correct height - that's it. This plant was chomped by a rodent last winter.

Dendrobium speciosum

Working on five new growths. Interesting, my D. speciosum pedunculatum is already finished maturing its new growths. Many species show marked variation in many traits.

Cattleya lueddemanniana

This plant is blooming late in the season. It was brought in from Brazil earlier this year. This species is very variable. Some plants short and stocky, other slender. This is a slender, relatively tall plant. What is surprising and nice is that it has four flowers. Most individuals of this species have two flowers on a stem; three, rarely. I have never seen one with four.
