Cattleya C.G. Roebling

This large plant is not yet at it's best. I got it last summer from Cal-Orchid and it really needed a bigger pot. I re-potted it but unfortunately during the winter I knocked it over (the "greenhouse" became crowded and disorganized). So I think that set it back.

Cattleya mossiae

I got this seedling about 2.5 yrs ago from Ben Oliveros. It's a sibling of the tipo mossiae I posted earlier. The leaves on this one were darker than those of the sib, so I was suspecting slightly darker flowers, which turned out to be correct. This is the first time blooming for me. I think it's a stunner.

Cattleya mossiae

I was able to spend a few hours doing some much needed but routine maintenance today. A few hard decisions had to be made, mostly regarding plants in baskets. Neither moving to bigger baskets nor moving into pots made much sense given time constraints so clean up and adding fresh sphagnum was the solution. Here is a C. mossiae blooming for the first time.
